For Autumn/Winter 2009, Paul Smith will be publishing articles in collaboration with world-renowned illustrator Alan Aldridge. In the 1960s and 1970s, he worked with Alan Aldridge on many famous albums and The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics of The Beatles. His signature style is a fluid, psychedelic work using airbrush, which was an iconic style at the time.
In this collaboration, Paul Smith (Ladies) will develop items with prints that replicate his work.
Designer Paul Smith says: “When I started out as a designer, I was fascinated by Alan Aldridge’s exotic, imaginative style. Now, after many years, I am proud to be working with him and creating work together. It is a great honor to be able to create it.”
